"Use your shield, drop your sword."
I learned this thing at the Feast Cagayan de Oro.
I gave this talk on a Retreat.
But it doesn't end there.
This morning, I encountered a shamer. A critical person. Who want to humiliate you in front of people. Can't give a wholesome joke, so, they make fun in humiliating other people.
Number 6 sign of an abuser, the critical. The experts in verbally abusing other people.
Again, I learned this from the talk at the Feast Cagayan de Oro.
I gave this talk entitled Abuse from the 'Killing Me Softly" series last Saturday April 2, 2016 at SM Cinema 3.
What will you do if you encounter people like this?
Walk away! If you don't walk away, you are teaching yourself that shaming is normal. And later on you will be shaming other people also. Walk away!
The real challenge is, when you will be put in a situation like this. And you are the one being humiliated.
This morning I thanked God for the grace to be brave enough.
I was able to give time for the "Gift of the Gap" to listen, use my shield from his way of humiliation, drop the sword to take revenge and walk away to protect myself. I deserve to be loved.
Thank you Feast Cagayan de Oro for the teaching!
That’s why I always come to the Feast to worship and to remind myself of how God loved me so much. How God cares for us.
I am totally, completely, perfectly loved!
