And because we lived in Camaman-an, the barangay officials invited us to share, to give what we can help the affected families. Because of that innate goodness within us, we gave. We sort out things that we don't use like clothes, then, we gave it.
Then, I got this reflection from Fr. Erick Y. Santos. Why do you give? I give because I don't need it anyway. Then, that's not giving! That is, doing away with what you don't need.
Fr. Erick Y. Santos invites us to really give from the heart. Give what is important to you.
I have here my old Motorola BQ50 Tracfone which I don't use anymore. If I drop this to the ground, will it matter to me? No. If I give this away, will it matter to me? No.
Many are giving their time, resources, money to the extent of feeling something has been lost from the act of giving. And from that loss, from that feeling of emptiness, you know you filled someone's emptiness.
You gave up something important to you and gave it to those who need it the most. The vacuum, that feeling of emptiness within you, God will take care of that. God will fill that overflowing, because He knows when He bless you abundantly you will share that blessing to others also.
Keep sharing. Keep blessing others.
