Raised in an abusive home, daughter shows the highest form of magnanimity

This not ordinary story will put you into a shocked mode. A young woman despite the bitterness she felt towards her parents choose to show the highest form of magnanimity. And that is forgiveness.

So short, yet full of emotion and wisdom.

Read it!
"The highest form of magnanimity is forgiveness.

Raised in an abusive home, a young woman felt bitterness toward her parents. But when diagnosed with breast cancer, she determined to love them in spite of the past.

Each morning as she left for work she'd tell her mother she loved her. Her mother never answered.

Then one day, after about three months, the daughter was late for work and rushed out of the house. Her mother hurried to the door. "You forgot something," she yelled. "What?" the young woman asked. "You forgot to say I love you." They embraced. They cried. They healed."

It's Not Too Late to Say Sorry

One day, I went home after a tiresome workday. I want to relax and regain my energy for a business meeting after dinner.

It's great to see our kids playing at home. After a little while, the kids were arguing with each other. I got irritated with the noise. I shouted, scolded them.

So angry that by the time I left home for the meeting, I said to my kids, no hugs, no goodbye kiss. Then, I left.

I broke the rules. We taught our kids to hug, to kiss, to say I love you every time we go out from the house. I broke the ritual.

Riding a motorela going to the meeting the angry feeling that consumed me, slowly subsided.

And I realized, I was wrong. I hurt my kids and myself.

At the meeting. I can't focus, I'm not at ease. I can't listen well. I asked myself, what if I die now? What if I die on the road going home after the meeting? It will not be a good ending story between me and my kids. It will not be a happy ending.

Right then, I pulled out my cellphone and called out our kids at home and said sorry to them. Sorry mga anak, papa was wrong. Forgive me, I love you.

After our conversation over the phone, I felt relieved, I felt light from the heaviness I was carrying from my wrong action.

I realized, I was not only hurting my kids but I was also hurting myself. I can't move on, I can't focus because of what I did.

Friends, it's not too late to say sorry. It's not too late to say sorry to your love one, to a dear friend.

Nurture the relationship. Nourish the love.

That's not Giving! That is, doing away with what you don't need.

One month ago February 14, 2016, a fire consumed the houses of around 150 families in Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro City just near Maria Reyna Hospital.

And because we lived in Camaman-an, the barangay officials invited us to share, to give what we can help the affected families.  Because of that innate goodness within us, we gave.  We sort out things that we don't use like clothes, then, we gave it.

Then, I got this reflection from Fr. Erick Y. Santos. Why do you give?  I give because I don't need it anyway.  Then, that's not giving! That is, doing away with what you don't need.

Fr. Erick Y. Santos invites us to really give from the heart. Give what is important to you.

I have here my old Motorola BQ50 Tracfone which I don't use anymore.  If I drop this to the ground, will it matter to me? No. If I give this away, will it matter to me? No.

I have here my new Nokia Asha 501 cell phone.  If I drop this to the ground, will it matter to me? Of course, yes.  If I give this to someone else, will this matter to me? Yes.

Many are giving their time, resources, money to the extent of feeling something has been lost from the act of giving.  And from that loss, from that feeling of emptiness, you know you filled someone's emptiness.

You gave up something important to you and gave it to those who need it the most. The vacuum, that feeling of emptiness within you, God will take care of that. God will fill that overflowing, because He knows when He bless you abundantly you will share that blessing to others also.

Keep sharing. Keep blessing others.

Love One Another

Sometimes we are so concerned and analytical about whether someone is a good match that we ignore how we actually feel about the people we spend time with. Are you annoyed? Intrigued? Bored? Inspired? Be present on your next date and see how you feel.  Now.
-Andrea Syrtash, relationship expert

In finding a relationship We tend to look at somewhere else far from our reach when in fact there are many who are close to us that we take for granted.  We may be idealistic that the people around us seem to be neglected. We forgot to to consider those we spent more of our time with. Be realistic, be present and feel it the next time you have a date.
In the end our relationship matters most. Our family relationship is the basic of all relationship we will take in the future.  How you deal with your immediate family members is a picture of how you will handle your relationships in the society. Family relationship is essential.

In the end nothing we do or say in this lifetime will matter as much as the way we have loved one another.
